Health & Wellness Policy 2023-2024

In accordance with the State of Kansas and Diocese of Wichita a wellness policy (Wellness Policy 420) is available on request in the school office that has been adopted by St. Anne School. As a Team Nutrition school we have been trying to focus on encouraging healthy eating habits and physical activity. St. Anne will no longer allow cupcakes or frosted sugar cookies that are purchased from Dillon’s/Walmart/Sam’s/Aldi for school parties or birthday treats.

Also, due to the many food allergies among the students, only prepackaged, unopened store bought snack items will be permitted for school parties, birthday treats and take-home treat bags. Below is a list of snack items, in accordance with this policy, which can be served:  

• ONLY Glazed donuts; no additional icing or sprinkles etc. from Krispy Kreme/Winchell’s/Dillon’s/Walmart/Sam’s/Aldi, etc.
• Pudding, ice cream, fruit or applesauce cups.
• Pre-packaged popcorn, fruit snacks, trail or Chex mixes.
• Pre-packaged muffins, crackers, pretzels, cookies, graham crackers, teddy grahams, animal crackers or rice Krispy Treats.
• Pre-packaged cereal, nutri-grain, or granola bars.
• Go-gurts, low fat yogurt smoothies or string cheese.
• Bottled Water/Juices

Under no circumstances will soda pop be allowed for ANY parties or birthday treats.
