Music  Ministry


ACCOMPANIST (Nominee)

Accompanists play selected music on keyboard or organ and work with cantors in preparation for liturgies. Accompanists serve on a rotating schedule from September through May for the Saturday 5:15 p.m. liturgy and all weekend liturgies during the summer months. There are also opportunities to play for special celebrations, services and feast days.


CANTOR (Nominee)

Cantors lead the singing of the church community during all liturgies throughout the year. They also assist during special celebrations and services such as weddings, funerals and penance services. Yearly workshops required. It is open to 8th grade and older.


CHANCEL CHOIR

The Chancel Choir sings from September through May during the 11:00 a.m. Sunday liturgy and occasionally for special feast/holy days. Choir sings many varied styles of music and uses piano and organ as their primary instruments. It is open to 8th grade and older. Monday evening rehearsals are from 7:00 – 8:30.

CONTEMPORARY CHOIR

The Contemporary Choir sings from September through May during the 8:30 a.m. Sunday liturgy and occasionally for special feast/holy days, choir sings with a contemporary style and selection of music using piano, guitar, bass, accordion, and percussion as their primary instruments. It is open to 8th grade and older. Rehearsals are held Tuesdays from 7:00 – 8:30.

INSTRUMENTALIST (Nominee) Musicians who play any type of string, wind or percussion instruments are occasionally called on to help enhance liturgical music when the choirs sing. Any age accepted, providing you are proficient on your instrument. Instrumentalists needed especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
